When working with memory wire, it is important to use specialized cutters instead of regular jewelry wire cutters, as they can damage the wire. We offer memory wire cutters and looping pliers for this purpose. When cutting 14 gauge wire, it is recommended to rotate the cutters around the wire while applying pressure. Please note that looping pliers may not work for heavy 14 gauge wire. Please refer to the video below for a demonstration of how to use looping pliers.
Memory wire is a strong material that will snap back to its original position. It can be manipulated and bent using a propane or butane torch. As shown in the video below, you can also use hand tools to bend and manipulate memory wire. We offer nylon jaw bracelet and ring-bending pliers as well.
If you plan to loop the ends of your memory wire, it is recommended to smooth and round the ends to prevent scratching or catching on clothing. The wire rounding tool is perfect for this purpose.
