Letter opener – 1pc

$2.00

Learn how to create elegant letter openers using hollow knife handles. Firstly, place the knife blade side down in your vise, then heat the area where the blade enters the handle to allow the solder to flow out. However, ensure you stand back and to the side and wear protective gear since the solder usually splatters as it comes out. Once you remove the handle with pliers, cool it in water and clean it up as required. Refer to the video tutorial below for instructions on how to fill the hollow handles and set aside 24 hours for the cement to set fully. Please note that not all silverware knives have hollow handles, so do the “tap test” to confirm if it is filled or hollow. Hold the blade and tap the handle against another metal surface; if you hear a “clink,” it is more than likely hollow, but if you hear a “thud,” it is more than likely filled.
